Writing Guidelines

Manuscripts can range in style and tone.  Expository writing is preferred, but we welcome narrative and persuasive papers, especially in the domains of emotional, environmental, and social wellness.  The tone should be clear and concise, avoiding rhetoric.  Illustrate points with examples, source all claims, and include links to sources and references.  We prefer references from peer-reviewed scientific articles, academic journals, and textbooks. Submissions should be original and unique.

Please consider the foci outlined below, which are not meant to be limiting but rather to assist you to craft a manuscript or abstract that is successfully reviewed and published.

Literature Reviews

We welcome literature reviews that summarize current health research, interventions and lifestyle programs.  Reviews should represent a critical evaluation of published research, policies, programs, or interventions and identify significant outcomes, relationships, gaps, or limitations.  Moreover, reviews should highlight implications for general health outcomes and the applicability of interventions and lifestyle programs.  We are interested in reviews that clearly provide a theory-research-practice connection and that discuss innovative approaches about future states of health and wellness.

Length: 700-2000 words.

Health Reports

We are interested in reports that analyze a problem, approach, or program and make recommendations for future action. These papers should describe how the subject relates to a dimension of wellness, how it provides a unique perspective on a current health issue impacting Millennials, in addition to how the subject applies to daily life.  We invite reports offering a bold vision that challenges our readers to think critically about the types of health programs and practices they choose to adopt. Length: 700-2000 words.

We invite you to share educational health information that describes why an activity, food, or supplement is beneficial, or describe a service that you use or provide that has tangible health benefits.  Length 50-250 words.
